Child Safety Standards
Our commitment to combating child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) on Instant Status.
Our commitment
Instant Status has a zero-tolerance policy toward child sexual abuse material (CSAM), the sexual exploitation of minors, grooming, and any content that endangers children. We are committed to detecting, removing, and reporting such content and the accounts responsible for it, in compliance with applicable laws and platform requirements.
Prohibited content and behavior
The following are strictly prohibited on Instant Status. Accounts that engage in any of these will be permanently terminated:
- Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) of any kind, including photographs, videos, drawings, animations, computer-generated imagery, or text descriptions.
- Sexual or sexualized depictions, comments, or interactions involving anyone under 18.
- Grooming behavior — attempting to befriend, manipulate, coerce, or sexually solicit a minor.
- Sextortion or the threat of distributing sexual content to coerce a minor.
- Promoting, advertising, or facilitating the trade of child sexual abuse material or the sexual exploitation of minors.
- Sharing personal information of a minor with the intent to exploit, harm, or solicit them.
How users can report concerns
Every Instant Status user can report another user, status note, or interaction directly from inside the app:
- Open the app and go to your friends list or a friend's profile.
- Tap the menu icon next to a user or their status.
- Select Report and choose Child safety concern as the reason.
- Add any context that would help us investigate, then submit.
Reports go directly to our safety team. While a report is under review, the reported account is restricted from contacting the reporter. We aim to triage child-safety reports within 24 hours.
Reporting outside the app
If you cannot access the app, or you believe a child is in immediate danger, contact us directly:
How we respond to reports
- Reports involving suspected child exploitation are reviewed as the highest priority.
- If a report is substantiated, we permanently remove the offending content, terminate all associated accounts, and preserve evidence as required by law.
- We report apparent CSAM and child exploitation to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) in the United States, and to equivalent authorities in other jurisdictions through the INHOPE network where applicable.
- We cooperate with valid law-enforcement requests and preserve account data when legally required.
Design choices that protect minors
- Friends-only by design. Instant Status is invite-code based — users cannot discover or contact strangers. You only see and are seen by people you have explicitly connected with.
- No public discovery, no chat, no media uploads. The app does not allow direct messaging, photo or video sharing, or public broadcasting of content.
- Minimum age. Instant Status is not intended for users under 13. Our published target age groups on Google Play are 13+.
- Connection control. Users can disconnect from any contact at any time, immediately removing mutual visibility.
Designated contact
Our designated point of contact for child safety, CSAM prevention, and reporting compliance is the Instant Status safety team. All escalations, law-enforcement coordination, and compliance correspondence are routed through:
